I’m a registered Biokineticist since 1994 and worked at 3 Military hospital in Bloemfontein till 2003. After that I worked in a private clinic in Gallo Manor (Sandton, Johannesburg). In June 2004 I was appointed as the Practice Manager at the Medi-Clinic Heart Hospital Rehabilitation Centre (Pretoria). I bought the practice in March 2007. The practice moved to Zuid- Afrikaans hospital in 2009 where we are currently situated and Charmaine also became my business associate.

I love the challenge of helping people who has to overcome their fears, weaknesses and deal with illness or after effects of surgery. By evaluating your physical abilities and exercise prescription we try to improve our patient’s quality of life and physical abilities. It is a passion of mine to interact with, and help people. The members of this rehabilitation centre (approximately 270) are part of a friendly and happy family. We specialize in post operative rehabilitation and also have a lot of elderly patients who train at our facility.

About me personally, I love outdoor activities such as camping, mountain biking, fishing and hiking. I used to play sport on competitive level but currently do hiking and mountain biking etc, mainly for enjoyment. My more introvert side likes to do hobbies such as poetry, art and listening to music and reading. I can always be persuaded to relax with friends and consider myself a whiskey lover of note!

I am by nature optimistic and regard my sense of humour as an attribute in life. Every day is a gift and we need to make the most of it. Carpe diem!

Hi my name is Charmaine Fourie and I finished my Biokinetic studies in 2007 at Tshwane University of Technology and started to work with Linda at her rehabilitation centre as a biokinetic intern in 2008.  I registered in 2009.  It did not take very long for me and Linda to discover that we are an excellent team, not only in a clinical sense with our work as biokineticists, but also in a business capacity.  We soon became partners of Linda Strydom Biokineticists and have been working very well together as a business team.

I practiced as a registered biokineticist for 5 years building up great relationships with patients and doctors alike.  In 2012 I fell pregnant with my first son and after returning to work for a couple of months we decided that I was going to work from home starting in May 2013 to be a full time mom.  My second son Zack was born in December 2013.

After being a full time mom for a bit more than 4 years I returned to the practice in the beginning of 2018. Currently I am focusing more on the business/financial part of the practice and am here daily until 12:00 after which I resume my "mother" tasks with my two boys trying to keep them fit, healthy and well educated.

I’m a Registered Nurse with a passion for preventative and rehabilitative care. During my 17 year nursing career, I gained experience in various fields that include general nursing (Midwifery-, Urology-, Gynaecoloy-, Occupational and Psychiatric nursing), Orthopaedic- and Cardiac rehabilitation.

The highlights of my career include a 6 year employment at a company specializing in orthopaedic services with a focus on rehabilitation of patients requiring prosthetic and orthotic devices. Following my career aspirations, I then specialized in Cardio-Thoracic and qualified subsequently as an ICU nurse.

Moral values are very important to me and as a Christian I attempt to live accordingly. I’ve been happily married for more than 24 years and have 2 healthy boys. Our eldest son Wikus, passed away in 2018 and it has been a tremendous loss to our family. Our family enjoys camping and the outdoors.

I’m driven to improve the ‘Quality of Life’ of people in need of rehabilitation and pride myself with the integrity by which I do my work.

Charlize Korff – Biokineticist

I was raised in a small town named Bela-Bela. After I matriculated from Hoërskool Warmbad in 2015, I went on to study B.A Human Movement and Psychology at the North-West University, Potchefstroom campus, where I also completed my honours degree in 2019. As Bela-Bela is a really small town, Potchefstroom was like the big city to me – there were all types of new challenges that I faced.

I completely fell in love with the biokinetics profession. One of my greatest passions in life is the well-being of people, and I knew right from the start that I wanted to work in a clinical environment. It gives me great joy to see the progress that one person can make.

In my Honours year, I was required to work “away” from Potchefstroom. Linda was kind enough to let me work “away” at Linda Strydom Biokinetics. I enjoyed the practice so much that I asked to work there again later in the year as well. As 2019 was coming to an end, the time came for me to apply for my Biokinetics internship. To cut a long story short, I was accepted to complete my internship at Linda Strydom Biokinetics. Now, I’m really in the big busy city. I’m very excited to
see what the new year holds for me!

Qualifications:

BA Human Movement Science 2018(NWU)

BSc Hons Biokinetics 2019 (NWU)

I am the "newbie" in the LS Bio Family.  I am a mother of 2 gorgeous boys, and have been happily married for 13 years. Shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic, I took a leap of faith and resigned from the previous company after 15 years.  During 2020 I became an unofficial teacher, since my boys were home schooling.  In 2021 I decided I needed something more to add value but still be able to spend time with my family. I was fortunate to join the LS Bio team in March 2021.  I am loving what I do and look forward to a prosperous future.
